 Rig'n'Roll Review

Players will outrun their opponents to deliver cargo on time or hit the racing circle and prove their professional skills, giving them the opportunity to improve their rating and authority among other drivers.
Rig'n'Roll will immerse players in an exciting story with an unexpected finale. They will meet new friends and battle treacherous foes as they discover a conspiracy that will test their skills to the limit.

Apart from being the most accurate and innovative truck driving simulation game ever produced, Rig'n'Roll gives players an opportunity to test their management skills as they establish their own cargo transportation company. Players will recruit staff and hire other drivers to work for them as they expand their business and eliminate their competitors from the transportation market.

Rig’n’Roll is the longest awaited truck game of last 9 years. Though this game development period was so very long some ideas like: multiplayer option, traffic light, some trucks, pedestrians etc was removed in the end of game’s producing. I have only hopes this option back as a patche or Rig’n’Roll addon in future. Optionally, the history can repeats. Like King of the Road was continuation of famous Hard Truck 2 wih big pack of updates, in the same way new Rig’n’Roll game could appeared in year or two.

But backing to heart of matter. We can delighted with rightful Hard Truck 2/King of the Road successor called Rig’n’Roll. The first, there was issued Russian version of game with some bugs yet (end of 2009 year), afterwards English version of Rig’n’Roll (5 months later) with patch built in. We are still waiting for Polish release called Rig’n’Roll: Tirowiec that it is planned to issue in the end of May, 2010. Rig and Roll Cover

Right after the game installation a hardware check window will appear the first time you play the game. If your PC meets the system requirements, you will be able to run the game. Otherwise, you will be shown which PC parts need to be upgraded. You may still be able to run the game even if you are below minimum requirements, but the stability of the game cannot be guaranteed.

If you are lucky and your computer lives specs expectations, you'll see a main menu that has been designed for both graphical beauty and easy to use. All options are easily available for configuration. You can set up video, audio and controllers parameters as you wish, and game options such as traffic level, movies, tutorial and map orientation. The first thing you have to made is Profile setup.

Rig'n'Roll is a sequel to the famous Hard Truck series (trademark owner Buka). Only this time the game world is realistic. Players will experience thousands miles of real Californian roads. They will visit San Francisco and LA, San Diego and San Jose. They will race along famous highways and find shortcuts using small country roads. Rig'n' Roll delivers players the ultimate truck driving experience with authentic models of trucks and their interiors, a completely new collision model and astonishing 3D graphics among numerous features.

The Profile menu allows creating, selecting, and deleting player profiles, so multiple players can play the game on the same PC. Control schemes, saved games, and even screenshots (F12 key) are all stored separately for each profile. The active profile name is indicated in the top right corner of the screen. The profile is located in

"C:\Documents and Settings\[WINDOWS USERNAME]\My Documents\My Games\RigNRoll\[PROFILE NAME]\"
for Windows XP users or in

"\Users\[WINDOWS USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\RigNRoll\[PROFILE NAME]\"
for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users.

Rig’n’Roll game is the continuation of the first truck simulators on the PC (Hard Truck 2 and King of the Road). They aimed to be both racing game and business management game in one and Rig’n’Roll is similar to them. I see quite a lot of complaint that Rig’n’Roll is more arcade game than clear simulator. I have never heard in project plan that Rig’n’Roll must be pure-blood simulator only!

Rig and Roll Map

There are two types of driving models offered in Rig’n’Roll: Single Mission and Story.

Single Mission mode lets you make a single delivery goods via any route. All main highways, trucks and cargoes are available in this mode at the beginning. The first, you must select warehouse to choose a starting town. Destinations warehouse become available after you visit the starting town warehouse.

When selecting a starting point, pay attention to goods available in each town. Not all warehouses can offer a wide range of products. The town you have selected will be marked on the game map.

Single Mission give you possibility to select one of thirteen available trucks. The Restyling button lets you change the appearance of your truck as you like. Do not forget to you adjust difficulty level, starting time, weather and its rate of change, and day and night alternation for more fun. Difficulty level affects delivery deadlines, competitors' skills and truck physics realism. Weather and time-of day options can be set however you wish, and by disabling changes you can lock in a certain weather pattern or time of day for the entire trip.
