SCS Software have started executing new strategy by porting their older, simpler games to Mac - first with good old Bus Driver, and now with another older game Deer Drive. Bus Driver experienced a very good start on Mac, and now several months after it was introduced to Mac App Store, it still regularly features in Top 100 Top Selling Games.

TruckPol News

There was little problem with TruckPol website availability by 2 weeks due to lack of payment to my server provider. The good news is that the debt was repaid last by myself. The server for TruckPol website is prepaid for the next half year again!

New Game Scenes

The whole September new Euro Truck Simulator 2 pictures or movies taken from european game world was present on SCS Blog.
The set of images of Eurotunnel may be of interest especially for game fans in the UK nad France. A short presentation trailer of scenes from Poland as portrayed in Euro Truck Simulator 2, created for Polish publishing partners CD Project is available HERE.
Some simply scenes taken from around Prague (Czech) was presented as living video too.

So now, together with Scania, CD Projekt was feature Trucks & Trailers at Master Truck event taking place in the city of Opole, Poland, July 15-17. Development Progress

The guys from SCS Software are working hard on many new things and improvements for Euro Truck Simulator 2 game, and one of the areas they focus on is building several all-new highly detailed cabins. HERE is another glimpse on a work-in-progress asset.

One of their goals for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is to make the world a bit less static and more lifelike. Trees may play a role in this effort... The effect you can see in These tree branches should sway in the wind topic.

The old website of SCS Software is history now. SCS is proud to unveil a new look of their official web site. The look is cleaner, information about our games should be easier to find, the screenshots are better organized, the HTML is crunchier and perhaps even faster to load.

SCS Software wanted to show us more than static pictures of trucks and now we can see new truck physics on uploded video. There is their testing grounds used by the programmers for constant physics tweaking, you won't find it in the final games. The video is available Sumava Mountains and screenshot taken somewhere in France. Somebody can read the information about truck customization interface there as well. With the use of this function your trucks are going to be extensively customizable in Euro Truck Simulator 2 game.

Euro Truck Special: Manoeuvring Simulator

It came as surprise to us that SCS Software prepared new game for its German publishing partner - rondomedia in secret. For several months, a small group of people at SCS Software has been working on a skunkworks project called Trucks & Trailers. A game concentrating on one specific skill that every truck driver needs to master - navigating tight spaces with the tractor-trailer. It's a very straightforward concept - no company management, not even point A to point B cargo delivery, just pure game of skill. The game is not finished yet, SCS still has a few short months ahead of us to wrap it up. But Trucks & Trailers should be on the store shelves much sooner than Euro Truck Simulator 2. The SCS Blog website has still more and more information about incoming ETS2 game.
The last updates was related to trailer's topic. SCS has plan to replace some of the very old trailer models that they have been using since before original Euro Truck Simulator. You can see effect of work for Euro Truck Simulator 2 game in this post.

TruckPol Celebration

Yes, that is true... I have the pleasure of announcing to everyone that TruckPol website is celebrating its 10 anniversary of existence in internet.

The first TruckPol information was published here on March 14th, 2001.

Courtesy such people as Pavel (SCS Software), Igor (SoftLab-Nsk), Sergey, Nikita, Anatoly (1C) and great men working hard as TruckPol Forum Admins and Mods, my old & new friends - this site still exists. Thank you very much for your help and support and sometimes patience for me in this period of time.

Unfortunately I must announce that it will be probably last year of TruckPol existing as well. I think it is good time to end my adventure.

AI Traffic & Game Graphics

One of the areas that SCS Software is spending a lot of effort and time on for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is improving the AI of the vehicles in the game environment.
The ETS2 video uploaded on the SCS Blog is showing a couple of situations used for testing the changes in AI behavior.
The next post is a bit technical, but perhaps it can be interesting to some of you. SCS Software is in the process of implementing Morphological Anti-Aliasing in the graphics engine. The result is shoved and described here.

The official website of Extreme Trucker 2 posted information about releasing fully localised version of game in Germany and Hungary.

Pictures Update

Some new Blog updates was prepared by SCS Software last. Althought Euro Truck Simulator 2 is still far from being completed, new pictures show the game's potential for development.
The ETS2 map is going to be by far the biggest virtual world SCS Software have ever created. "The game is going to be at least three times bigger then the original Euro Truck or the newer GTS and UKTS games" - they wrote.
So you can see some pictures taken from Poland map posted on SCS Blog. There are Poznań, Szczecin and Kłodzko surroundings.

I am very happy to announce the availability of digitally distributed edition of SCS newest truck simulation game called 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2. The demo contents is 100% the same as the CD version of the game, and the download is free, but it is limited to 1 hour of game play. Use this time to see if you like the game, and to check whether it is compatible with your computer.

18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2 contains full localizations to English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch languages, to bring the game closer to international fan community.

The 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2 official website was opened by SCS Software company. You can find interesting things like the first videos of Extreme Trucker 2 there. The videos are available on SCS blog here and there.

Valusoft, the game's publisher, should start shipping the retail version of the game across Northern America this month. Other countries are definitely going to follow, they are actually already working on integrating translations for German, Russian, Hungarian, Czech and Polish releases for a start. Also they understand licensing discussions are ongoing for Scandinavia and France.
